Biography

DJ@War, US DMC Finalist and Urban Music Award (UMA) winner, is the most exciting DJ on the national and international scene, having toured throughout the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia, in over 20 countries and 40 cities throughout the world. His mixed sets of hip-hop, electro, house, and rock have gathered a fanbase of all ages and cultures worldwide.

Born in Pennsylvania, homeland to turntable greats such as Jazzy Jeff and the legendary Cash Money, DJ@War sought to continue the proud tradition of these legendary turntable entertainers. Raised in an environment that embraced all genres from hip-hop and R&B to rock, funk, and house, DJ@War has always dreamed of cultivating hip hop and dj culture around the globe. Making a second home in the United Kingdom helped him live this dream.

In 2007 DJ@War performed in countries such as Cyprus (opening for 50 Cent and Akon in front of over 15,000. He also decisively outscored over 200 DJ’s to win a DJ Competition hosted by Calvin Klein (Are You The CK-One). One of the judges, 7X world champion and 2007World DMC Champion DJ Rafik, commented- “I find it very inspiring...the ideas he (DJ@War) has for mixing tracks together…”

2008 has been a great year for DJ@War, having toured in Africa, Asia, India, the US, and Europe. He has helped in overseas touring for A-list artists such as Ne Yo and Lil Wayne. With the help of production duo Durrant and Riley, he also ventured into production, remixing Herve's electro smash "Cheap Thrills" (Ministry of Sound's Data Records). His recent remixes of Flo Rida's "Right Round" and Black Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Pow" have recently been getting airplay from Kiss FM in London and various stations across the USA. Forming an alliance with Def Jam in the UK, he is responsible for album release parties throughout Europe for the label, putting together album release tours for Ne Yo (Year of the Gentleman), Kanye West (808’s and Heartbreaks), and Nas (Untitled).

In 2010 DJ@War joined The Movement to develop his producing and songwriting experience . He has recently collaborated with new urban artist, Deja Fate and he has just finished pitching for the UK Smirnoff TV Ad Campaign.

So far, 2011 has seen @War collaborating on 2 tracks with Jaguar Skills, as released on the Toolroom Knights album, released on 24th June 2011.

He has also signed to Insanity Talent Management, home of DJ Fresh, Jaguar Skills, DJ Swerve and Mistajam.
