Biography

Ollie is a young, talented songwriter and music producer originally from a small village near Scarborough. During his childhood he was mainly exposed to pop, classical and jazz music. Ollie has a great ability to 'play-by-ear' and a raw talent for improvisation on the piano. At an early age he was fascinated by the chord structures found in jazz music and began to incorporate these methods into his pop song writing. This eventually led to the writing and production style which Ollie has developed today.

Ollie was talent spotted during his teens by BBC Talent. He has received two grants to purchase some studio gear: a new computer and keyboard. This became a major creative turning point for Ollie as it enabled him to record the songs he was writing. The high quality keyboard was also a catalyst for Ollie to join several bands, and to musically direct plays and musicals in and around Scarborough. Not only is Ollie a very talented musician, he is also academically gifted. By the age of 16, Ollie was dedicating all of his time writing, recording, rehearsing or performing. He acquired 5 A levels and got a place at Leeds Music College to study music production. Fast forward to Feb 2011 and he is a few months away from completing his music production degree and will be ready to fully immerse himself in the music industry. He is currently working with Olly Barnes as well as writing and producing for already established and well known artists such as Clement Marfo and the Frontline. He hopes to create soulful music that challenges pre-conceptions about how 'pop' music should sound and "write some hits!"
